Why Intercultural Communication?
At my job as a customer service associate, I often translate for Spanish speaking customers. I have to adjust my tone of voice and mannerisms in order to not come off as rude or insensitive.
Everyday I get to work along side others who have a different culture. I love learning new things about different cultures. It helps me understand what some people might need when I am talking to them.
Intercultural communication Is the process by which individuals from different cultures endeavor to create mutual meaning with one another.
Intercultural communication focuses on breaking down stereotypes, identifying personal biases, recognizing norms, and seeing others as equal in their humanity.
Intercultural communication is a broad and multifaceted concept.
Intercultural communication includes shared meaning making between races, nations, ethnicities, geographic regions, organizations, generations, neurotypes and more.
